Position: LBSW or other BA/BS-level counselor with experience with working with older adults
Number of positions: 2 (one is for English-Spanish bilingual)
Start and end date: 8/24/2015-12/31/2019
Hours: 20 hours per week during 8/24/2015-12/31/2015 (while in training); depending on the person's competence, full-time position may be offered following the training
Annual salary: for 20-hour position: $17,000 plus UT health insurance and other benefits; for full-time position: $34,000 plus benefits
Job description: As part of the NIH-funded UT research team, the counselors will be trained in a manualized depression self-care-management support (SCM) and provide SCM (psychoeducation and behavioral activation) for older adults who are Meals on Wheels and More (MOWAM) clients via videoconferencing. They will receive training in assessment and intervention skills from an LCSW and receive clinical supervision from an LCSW while they provide treatment. The counselors must work collaboratively with MOWAM case managers and supervisors in identifying potential clients and assessing them for their symptoms.
