UT- Austin Faculty Recruitment: Department of Psychology

Job Description: The Department of Psychology at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for two tenured faculty positions at the rank of Professor to begin Fall 2016. We seek candidates with outstanding research programs aimed at understanding the mechanisms underlying complex social behavior and applying such knowledge to social problems by conducting theoretically based intervention. That is, we seek scientists who use theory to inform intervention and vice versa. Successful candidates are expected to maintain a strong, extramurally funded research program, collaborate with other faculty, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, direct graduate research, and exhibit a commitment to service to the department, college and university.

Candidates must have a PhD in Psychology or related field, an excellent record of research and service, and an exemplary teaching record at the university level. The successful applicant for the current position will be appointed in the Department of Psychology, although there is a possibility for appointments in other appropriate departments as well.
