Austin ROSC Announcements April 2016

Hello Austin ROSC Stakeholders,

We wanted to pass along some important notes and announcements coming in the next weeks.

As an important reminder, the next scheduled Austin ROSC General Meeting will be Friday April 8th 2016 at 12 pm to 1:30 pm. We hold our regular general meetings on the 2nd Friday of each month. We are confirmed to hold our meetings at the Canteen Conference Room on the ASH Campus 4110 Guadalupe St, Austin, TX 78751.

LOCATION CHANGE: The meeting has moved to Communities for Recovery this month only. Please make not of the location on the map below.

Here are few updates we wanted to note and to keep in mind:

Dr. Imtiaz Alam speaking this month on Hep C Program We have invited Dr. Alam to come out this next month to speak at the ROSC General Meeting about a new Hepatitis C Program that is working to focus on treatment and prevention for those with substance use issues. As we all know health issues are a significant factor that impacts long term recovery and access to care is critical. Come out this month to hear more about the beginnings of a new program to help provide services.

Austin ROSC Workshop at Cross Creek Hospital April 22nd The Austin ROSC Leadership with be providing a workshop in collaboration with CrossCreek Hospital. The presentation will focus on an in depth discussion on ROSC principles, practice, and applications at the community and organizational level.Space will be limited and will fill up fast. Austin ROSC Volunteer NEEDED! Over the past few weeks, the Austin ROSC Initiative has received a lot of support but we are in need of more very specific volunteers to help in the following areas:

  • ROSC Website: Anyone who can work at the basics in development. We are close to getting in on line
  • Photography and Media: We are wanting to create some digital content that post online but need some professional help to make it valuable material to help educate the public We can not do everything without support from all stakeholders and it is needed to help the already growing volunteers but more are needed. Please come out to the meeting or contact us if you are interested in volunteering.
