Job Description: Program Specialist VI The Program Specialist VI works under the direct supervision of the Associate Commissioner of the Center for the Elimination of Disproportionality and Disparities (Center) at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. This position is responsible for a variety of critical functions which include: responding to executive administrative requests; managing communications and information flow throughout the Center and its programs; representing the Associate Commissioner at various meetings and forums, as needed; and preparing high-level documents, reports, and correspondence. The person in this position will provide a broad range of support to the State Advisory Coalition for Addressing Disproportionality and Disparities. This position assists with strategic planning in the Center and provides high-level executive support to the Associate Commissioner. This position serves as a liaison with state organizations to facilitate efforts for addressing disproportionality and disparities and provides state-level consultative services and technical assistance. This position coordinates Center-specific assignments or projects related to the three programmatic areas within the Center and may plan, assign, and/or supervise the work of others. This position works under minimal supervision, with a wide degree of creativity and extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment
